Electric Lap Steels
Ideal for that classic Hawaiian, Blues or Rock slide sound. This design for the lap steel is a totally original body shape based on the smooth curves of Hermann Weissenborn's iconic 'hourglass' shape.
Both models feature identical body dimensions and construction. The price differentiation is due to the differing appointments and cosmetic touches. These are simply the most popularly requested configurations. All guitars are made-to-order and can be taylored specifically to your requirements. If you have features in mind that aren't listed don't hesitate to contact me for a quote. Photos are provided (where available) as examples of each model. You can click the thumbnails to view a larger version of each.
There are many different timbers electric lap steels can be built from. Availability varies significantly, so contact me for an idea of what is available. Commonly used tonewoods include Queensland Maple and New Guinea Rosewood (Narra), Jarrah and more.
